Stargazing with tea and cake!
Join us for a fun and informative evening with tea & cake and discover our dark sky. We meet once a month on Friday evenings from 7.30pm until late. Everyone is most welcome, from complete beginners to complete astronomical geniusis! We've got the perfect spot for stargazing. Our unique elevated location (approx 137 meters above sea level) in the middle of a field, provides excellent dark sky conditions, with minimum light pollution. On a clear night the Milky Way is clearly visible and even constellations in the lower sky.
With easy access and free parking. Our cozy tea room is a great place to chat and share information. We even have a slide projection screen, perfect for talks and presentations, as demonstrated above by Paul Money one of our regular speakers. Paul was due to be joining us on 24th April but due to the Covid-19 situation we will re-schedule for another date in the future.
If you live too far away to come to our club, you'll find details of other star gazing locations and events around the UK at Go Stargazing.
In loving Memory of our Star - Wendy
I’m so sorry to have to share with you, the very sad news that Wendy has left this troubled world. She died in hospital on 29th March due to Cancer.
Wendy was a wonderful lady, a real star. Whom I was lucky to have met by chance. I could not have started our little Star Club without her and it will not be the same without her but rest assured we will honour her memory with a special Star Club event later in the year as soon as we can. For now, let us all look up at the stars at every opportunity. Look out for that new shining star and remember Wendy 🌟
